Aerobic Exercise Examples

So You Want Some Examples Of Aerobic Exercise, Huh?

When you hear the term "aerobic exercise", the days of jumping jacks and high school calisthenics comes to mind for many. Sure those count. But many other physical activities can provide cardio benefit as well.

Some, like jogging, by their very nature burn a lot of calories. Others will too if you do them with enough "enthusiasm".

But as I've said elsewhere on this site the key is finding something you like to do.

Myself I couldn't see me jogging down the street to save my life. But there are other things, like jumping rope, that I like doing so that's okay. Because if you like doing something you're more apt to stick with it over the long haul. Doing it even when you don't feel like it.

Just remember that whatever cardiovascular exercises you do do, it's best to get your heart beating somewhere between 50 to 70 percent of its maximum rate - for the duration. Which leaves a leisurely stroll out.
Still since you came to this page looking for ideas here are some examples of aerobic exercise you can try. It's somewhat of a a short list. But I'll bet some on the list may surprise you.
aerobic dancing
bicycling
cross-country skiing
digging in your garden

If you don't think vacuuming or digging in the garden gives you a good cardio workout you haven't done that recently. Or you're spending too much time leaning on the shovel.

Now say you like doing something yet you find your heart doesn't get pumping fast enough. Solution. Try doing it faster or with more vigor.

Then too you really want do vary the types of aerobic routines you do from day to day. Walking one day. Riding a bike the next. Just make sure you pick activities you can do regularly and are fun for you.

The Affects of Aerobic
Exercise On the Body

Aerobic exercise makes use of the body's large muscle groups. Such vigorous movement forces oxygen-rich blood to your hard working muscles. The impact of all that oxygen is the breaking down of fat for energy. Which is why aerobic exercise uses the most energy and burns the most fat. Improved endurance is a side, but no less important benefit.

Some studies have even shown that your metabolic rate stays elevated for some time after vigorous exercise. Maybe up to 48 hours later. Causing you to use even more calories throughout your day.

Rigorous exercise has also been reported to suppress appetite.

Plus exercise can relieves stress and reduce tension that might otherwise lead to overeating.

There's another plus to any womens aerobic workout - the health benefits are cumulative. So even abbreviated aerobic workouts can help.
